The Economy and Skills Group includes the County Council’s economic research and analysis (Warwickshire Economics), business support, inward investment and strategic employment & skills functions. We also lead on relationships with external funders.

The Role

37 hours per week, part time hours will be considered
Flexible working available
Fixed term contract length until March 2022 (possible extension due to funding)

The Economy and Skills Group is currently managing over £30 million of projects and programmes. We are now looking for two experienced Contract and Project Managers to support two new projects and programmes.

Contract and Project Manager (European Regional Development Fund)

You will play a lead role in the delivery of a major new business support programme funded by the European Regional Development.

You will lead on the financial management and monitoring arrangements including compliance and the preparation of grant claims.

You will also work with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust and University of Warwick Science Park as well as internal delivery teams to monitor the delivery of ERDF outputs and other outcomes and performance measures.

It is envisaged that the post-holder will spend 100% of their time working on this ERDF programme. 

Contract and Project Manager (Access to Finance and Claim Verification)

You will play a lead role in the delivery of the Council’s loan and grant programmes. We have provided over £2 million of loans and grants to Warwickshire businesses since 2016 and a further £3 million has been approved over the next few years.

You will lead on the financial management and monitoring arrangements including compliance and the processing of grant claims. You will also work with our business advisors and partners to monitor the delivery of job and other outputs.

You will also support the delivery of our ERDF business support programme and other projects by leading on the checking and verification of grant claims before they are submitted to funders.

It is envisaged that the post-holder will spend 25-30% of their time working on ERDF funded projects.

Key Requirements

You will have significant experience of business support, access to finance or other economic development projects and programmes including projects funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

You will have extensive knowledge of grant regimes and processes along with excellent project and financial management skills.

You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
