Vacancy: Teacher of Design and Technology - TMS - UPS
Commencing: 1st September 2019 or earlier if possible
This is a temporary position covering maternity leave

Christ Church Academy is a Middle School for children aged 9 to 13 which has expanded over recent years because of its overwhelming popularity.  As a Church of England Academy, Christian values such as trust, friendship and thankfulness help our children learn and grow in an atmosphere of support and acceptance. Our latest Ofsted inspection in February 2017 rated the Academy as ‘good’.

Due to the current post holder commencing maternity leave, we wish to appoint a forward thinking teacher of Design and Technology, on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. An ability to teach all aspects of D&T is desirable however a strength in Food Technology/Textiles would be welcomed.

Design and Technology classes are taught in ability groups and the successful candidate will have responsibility for raising the standards of pupil attainment and achievement alongside monitoring and supporting pupil progress. The department is well resourced and benefits from two specialist D&T rooms; Resistant Materials and Food and Textiles.

We want an outstanding teacher who plans inspirational and imaginative lessons to engage and excite pupils of all abilities.

The normal place of work would be Christ Church Academy.  This Academy is part of ‘The Key Educational Trust’ and the Trust reserves the right to deploy the successful candidate to work at any other Academy within the Trust.

We can offer:

  • a supportive and committed Principal and Leadership Team
  • a school with an exciting future and desire to continuously improve
  • highly motivated and talented staff with a strong team ethos
  • a warm friendly atmosphere based on Christian and family values
  • highly motivated and well behaved pupils
  • professional development as part of a Performance Management process
  • access to a company healthcare plan

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious and hard working person to develop their career in a forward thinking school with excellent standards of achievement and care.
