Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 intelligent, motivated and dynamic individuals to join the existing IT Security Team at Coventry City Council to assist with improving the overall information security capability and function.

The successful applicants will work with the IT Security Team to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of multiple enterprise networks and services. To assist with this you will get experience of a wide range of technologies including but not limited to:- Internet filtering, email filtering, anti-malware, SIEM, IPS, network monitoring, vulnerability scanning, remote access, firewalls and asset management. The technologies are a mixture of on-premise, hybrid and cloud.

The Role

The overall aim is to improve Coventry City Council's data security which will be achieved by:-

  • Reacting to security alerts and incidents
  • Assist with major compliance such as PSN, PCI-DSS and HSCN and external audits
  • Managing security technologies
  • Assisting a wide range of customers including Council, Libraries and Schools on security matters

You'll need

  • Experience of working in ICT or a degree/qualifications in an ICT or relevant subject.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICT including awareness of standards, legislation and regulations.
  • To work confidently and successfully with elected members, statutory agencies, partners and colleagues right across the council to deliver outcomes.

 

 

Working Hours:  37.0 Hours per Week
