The Civic Function Suite at Burton Town Hall provides an impressive, historical setting for any event or meeting. Our venue is versatile and flexible, lending itself to all kinds of events, from wedding celebrations, to award ceremonies and beer festivals to parties, conferences and smaller meetings. We are also a licensed wedding venue and regularly host formal civic functions.

The Civic Function Suite Support Officer provides administrative support to the Civic Function Manager to assist with the day to day running of the Civic Function Suite. This involves dealing with customers, inputting bookings onto our internal system, raising purchase orders and invoices, putting together seating plans for customers, collating information and recording bar requirements, set ups and liaising with external contractors. Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2020.

The successful candidate should have:

- 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent;

- an effective customer care manner;

- excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise and deal with competing demands;

- the ability to work on own or as part of a team.

Event management experience and knowledge of music licences and the Licencing Act would be advantageous, although not essential.

The successful applicant should ideally be a Personal Licence Holder or willing to work towards this.

Hours of work are 18½ hours per week across Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday. There is a requirement to work outside of office hours including weekends, where necessary, to support with event management duties.
