This new role requires a skilled individual who can lead adult social care services, both directly provided and externally commissioned, through further transformation focused on innovation and achieving excellence. You will bring significant experience of modern and forward-looking social care, as a qualified social worker or similarly qualified professional. You will be able to work strategically, leading and transforming services at scale and pace, whilst maintaining a grip on operational detail. You will be able to demonstrate visible leadership and command the confidence of politicians, partners, staff and the public. Your energy and enthusiasm will inspire the people around you to realise the Council’s vision.

The post has a budget of c£40m and responsibility for around 500 staff. The role is part of the Directorate’s Leadership Team and the Council’s corporate Wider Leadership Team of the most senior managers in the organisation.
