The Interim Executive Board, wish to seek and appoint an enthusiastic, highly skilled professional teacher with excellent behaviour management skills, proven through experience to the post of Deputy Head Teacher.

Skilts is a caring school with high expectations of all 80 primary aged boys who have experienced exclusion and rejection from their previous educational settings. Our children need their self-esteem re-building and their social skills improving if they are to thrive in a world beyond education and training.

You will help us become an example of exceptional practice in this challenging area of special needs. The school is well resourced to meet the needs of all its pupils and benefits from being set in approximately 30 acres of well managed countryside. The staff team are committed to providing the best experience possible for the children to learn the basic skills necessary for the next stage of their education. They utilise the location of the school well, and take opportunities to learn in and around the grounds and offsite to maximise the engagement necessary to make learning memorable.

We are looking for a caring, committed, motivated, child-centred person who has a proven track record working with challenging youngsters to support the head teacher’s vision of an inclusive education for all, where our children achieve educational excellence, achieve positive outcomes and develop a sense of self-esteem. The successful candidate will work alongside a professional team of senior and middle leaders who want Skilts School to become a standout example of provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.
