Salary:  Grade 10 - £36,153.00- £39,961.00 per annum (pro rata)

37 Hours per week – Permanent

Staffordshire Families First is recruiting a full time Team Coordinator to the Family and Friends Team, which is based in Stafford.

As a Team Coordinator you must be a fully qualified social worker as you will be responsible for managing and supervising experienced Social Workers, Newly Qualified Social Workers and Family Support Workers. You will also be responsible for ensuring the stability of foster placements, to ensure good outcomes for those children in placements. Another essential part of the Team Coordinator role, is that of supporting the Team Manager with Quality Assurance and with the development of the team.

As the Team Coordinator, it is essential that you have experience of working with foster carers and children subject to care proceedings and that you have an up to date working knowledge of the Fostering Regulations / Fostering National Minimum Standards / Public Law Outline and a working knowledge of Care Proceedings and Court Processes. You will also need to be up to date with the regulations in regard to permanency planning.

The Family and Friends Team remit is; undertaking Viability Assessments, Fostering Assessments, Special Guardianship Assessments and Private Fostering Assessments. Fostering assessments are completed and submitted to Foster Panel whereby children are placed with a connected person under Regulation 24 (CPPR 2010), or prior to the placement being made.  We also supervise and support fully approved foster carers, including private foster carers and we support carers who have been granted Special Guardianship Orders.

The timescales for assessment work are extremely short, so the ability to be self motivating and highly organised is vital.

Therefore, if you have the skills, knowledge and experience to work on a very busy social work team and are committed to supporting foster carers to meet the holistic needs of the children in their care, to enable them to achieve their full potential, then this is an opportunity for you.

The team provides a County wide service, working closely with our colleagues in the Safeguarding Units, the Court and Care Planning Teams and have close working partnerships with SUSTAIN and CoramBAAF.

For more information contact; Tracy Hussain, Team Manager on 01785 895360 or Scott Crawford County Manager 01785 276005.
