Warwickshire’s Democratic Services are at the very heart of the organisation and are responsible for managing the Council’s democratic processes.  We work closely with all elected members and provide support to both the Executive (Cabinet) and Overview and Scrutiny functions.

We’re looking for Democratic Service Officers to join us.

The Role

2 full time vacancies

Joining our team you’ll be working within a complex, political environment providing advice, guidance and support to Council members; officers; chairs and key representatives in our partner agencies.  Researching, analysing and writing reports you’ll also be producing agendas; taking minutes at meetings and helping to train individuals on our Committee Management Information System.  Building, developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders you’ll ensure the delivery of reviews and work programmes and support the wider team as required.  There is room to develop within our Service and you’ll be given a full training programme.

Key Requirements

To be successful you’ll need excellent research; analytical; problem solving and decision making skills. As you’ll be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders it’s important you have strong communication skills; superb planning and organising skills and are used to working under pressure to meet deadlines.  You will need the ability to work within a team as well as on your own initiative and will be flexible and resilient with good IT skills.
