Job Details
Are you a good communicator, with experience of dealing directly with a wide range of people? Are you looking for a job where your organisational skills and interpersonal qualities will be used to the full?
Are you able to learn quickly and work within tight timescales, with an ability to recognise and maintain strict confidentiality?

To be successful in this role you’ll need some previous administrative experience with good literacy and numeracy. This is a busy role so it’s important you have well developed organisational skills, are used to working under pressure to meet deadlines and are resilient. You also need to be physically fit and prepared to walk long distances across the Warwick Central offices pushing a post trolley. As one of the first points of contact for callers to the office, in person or on the phone, you’ll have good communication skills and be quick in making decisions. You will be able to analyse information to solve general queries; have good IT skills and database experience. You will have the ability to work within a team or on your own, so initiative is also required.
The post room at Shire Hall is an extremely busy, hard-working and customer focused team who undertake a variety of functions supporting our colleagues across Warwickshire County Council.
The Facilities Post & Meeting Service are currently looking for an enthusiastic, proactive full time post room assistant who will be expected to undertake some administrative tasks as well as the core service of delivering mail.
The Role
1 x Permanent, Part time (25 hrs.)
1 x Fixed Term, Part time (25 hrs.)
As one of our post room Administrative Assistants, you’ll be based in the Post Room in Shire Hall providing a wide range of services to our customers. You’ll be responsible for sorting; delivering and collecting post around the buildings including Shire Hall; Saltisford; Northgate House and Barrack Street which will, on occasion, include lifting or carrying larger items and equipment. You’ll be walking and standing for long periods of time and use our Post Trolley for collecting and distributing post. In addition you’ll be working within a small team, carrying out a variety of differing administrative duties including creating car park passes and ID badges.
Key Requirements
The successful person will have previous experience of working in a front line customer service environment, preferably in a Post Room and be used to dealing with a variety of clients. Good administrative; planning and organising and IT skills are also required.
