Apprentice Teaching Assistants

We are currently seeking two entry level apprentices to train as teaching assistants in our school.  The posts will be Monday to Friday, term time only plus 5 training days, from 8:30 – 3.30 pm each day (30 hours each week).  The apprenticeship period will be approximately 18 months.

Closing date:  22nd March 12.00 p.m.

Qualifications required

GCSE English and mathematics Grade A-C or equivalent Level 2 functional skills.

Rate of pay:  The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.90 an hour.  This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.  Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage for their age if they are aged 19 or over AFTER completing their first year.  Rates of pay for the 2nd year if over 19 are as follows £6.15 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.70 for 21-24 year olds and £8.21 for anyone aged 25 and over.  Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that is part of their apprenticeship.

Training provider: Juniper Training will provide a BIIAB Level 2 Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.

  • This will involve on-site support and guidance with your designated assessor trainer.
  • The employer will provide on the job professional training relating to your role and course.
