The governors of Old Park Primary are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Deputy Headteacher who has the vision, skills, abilities and focus to further raise standards, achievement and aspirations for all pupils at Old Park Primary Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity for outstanding leaders who wish to be part of a dedicated and committed and forward thinking leadership team.

Old Park is an outstanding (Ofsted May 13) and vibrant community school in Wednesbury, West Midlands, providing education for pupils aged 3-11 years. We offer: a creative curriculum; Forest School; pupils who are eager to learn and staff who are friendly, supportive and committed to maximising the progression and well-being of all children.

The successful applicant will

  • Have an awareness of recent national initiatives and school improvement strategies aimed at raising achievement and improving behaviour
  • Have experience or training in leadership and management and can demonstrate proven leadership skills that motivate and inspire staff and children alike to achieve the highest standards
  • Be enthusiastic about parental and wider community links and able to build positive relationships with families, having excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues and pupils through modelling very high levels of professionalism, commitment and integrity
  • Be able to effectively manage change and have high level organisational and time management skills
  • Be a qualified teacher who can demonstrate sustained outstanding classroom practice and a commitment to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all pupils
  • Be able to differentiate the curriculum leading to high levels of achievement of children who have diverse needs and interests
  • Will not have a class responsibility but may be expected to provide cover when required.
  • Will have experience of supporting vulnerable children and their families.

This is a permanent, full time appointment which will be paid on the Leadership scale L13 - L17
