ICT Engineer (Learning Technology)

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum

This is a full time post based in the Technical Resources team. You will need to support the effective use of technological resources for students and staff by providing predominately 3^rd tier (and also 1^st and 2^nd tier) technical support to maintain and develop the College IT infrastructure. You will also be responsible for developing the use of technology to support students, teachers and support staff.   Your duties will include ensuring cyber security is robust, technology solutions for students are deployed as required and to meet regulatory safety standards.  This is a proactive service that ensures the smooth operation of facilities to enable students to achieve outstanding outcomes.

We are looking for a methodical, highly organised person with excellent technical skills with a good level of understanding of hardware and software that cover PC, Apple workstations, industry standard office applications, Active Directory, networks switches, mobile technology and telecommunications.  Your ability to work alone, engage in team activities and interact with students, staff and visitors using excellent customer service skills is essential.

The successful candidate should hold a Degree or level 3/4 qualification in ICT.  You will need to be highly IT literate. A Level 2 qualification (GCSE Grade A – C) or equivalent in English and maths (or demonstration that you are operating at level 2 in both subjects) is essential.  

The role is a standard Monday to Friday work pattern office hour with one late evening per week (13.00- 21.00) during term time.  The on call rota requires that you are available roughly one week in five during term time.
