Located within an attractive part of north Worcestershire Wyre Forest District has a distinctive combination of rural and urban landscapes. At an exciting time when the District Council is moving towards the adoption of a Local Plan which includes significant growth for the District, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our busy Development Management Team. As an Assistant Planning Enforcement Officer you will work closely within the Enforcement Team to monitor and control development to helping to make a sustainable and prosperous Wyre Forest.

This is a challenging but rewarding position which requires initiative, sound judgement, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good negotiation skills and a tactful, but firm approach would also be advantageous for this post. You will investigate potential breaches of planning control and monitor new development, working as part of the Development Management Team helping to protect, maintain and enhance the quality of the built and natural environment. Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and preferably Geography (A-C).

This is an excellent opportunity to start or progress a career within Development Management. The position is for an initial 2 year period which will be reviewed. Experience in a Development Management section is desirable but not essential. Please see our attached Job Description!

A full valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle. Willingness to attend out of hours Committee, other public meetings and appear in Court. 37 hours fixed term post.
