North Worcestershire Civil Contingencies and Resilience Manager

Temporary for 6 months to cover maternity leave

22.2 hours over 3 days

This position is an exciting opportunity to manage the shared North Worcestershire Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Service across Bromsgrove District Council, Redditch Borough Council and Wyre Forest District Council.

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure the appropriate strategies, policies, procedures and plans are in place to comply with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, National Standards and Regional and Local Resilience Forum arrangements.

• Be responsible for the day to day organisation and management of emergency planning and business continuity functions across the three councils including supporting the designated on call emergency response team director/officer in managing any responses to an operational incident.

The ideal candidate for this position will have either a:

• Professional qualification in Emergency Planning, Business Continuity or a relevant degree e.g. disaster management

Or

• Significant demonstrable experience of managing emergency planning and/or business continuity preferably in a public sector organisation

A high level and specific knowledge of emergency planning and business continuity management legislation, procedures and best practice is also required as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
