Weekend Caretaker

Brooke School is a Broad Spectrum Generic Special School catering for children aged 2-19. Our ethos is We Believe We Can Do It.  We pride ourselves on our collegiate, happy, family atmosphere.  We take a great pride in our school buildings and grounds and so require a person who will also show pride, dedication and commitment to the maintenance of the school site.

We are looking to appoint a well-motivated, skilled and practical person to support the management of the school farm over a week end period, including the care of the livestock, maintenance of the farm buildings and our beach. The successful applicant will also support the security of the site. There is also the potential for increased hours in line with increased lettings. 

Emergency call outs may need to be undertaken after hours, during statutory holidays and at weekends, for which additional salary payments will be made.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the qualifications, skills and experience outlined in the job description. All required training will be provided to the successful candidate to assist in their further professional development.

The successful candidate will demonstrate: 

• A strong work ethic that can make a sustained impact on site management 
• Good levels of literacy and numeracy 
• Ability to self-manage a considerable workload and demonstrate initiative
• A strong commitment to improve the outcomes of children at Brooke School
