Job Details

Start date: 1st September 2019

Contract type: Full Time

Salary: ISR L18 - 24

Contract term: Permanent

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dedicated and inspirational headteacher who is committed to leading Northfield Road Primary School at this exciting and pivotal time. Following an inadequate Ofsted judgement in autumn 2018, Stour Vale Academy Trust was appointed as the sponsoring trust for Northfield Road in February 2019. Stour Vale Academy Trust, the school’s Interim Executive Board and the Local Authority share a strong commitment to working together to support Northfield Road through the process of becoming a member of Stour Vale Academy Trust in September 2019.

The headship of Northfield Road is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader looking to either extend their experience of headship or to take up their first headship in a rewarding environment and within a very supportive multi-academy trust. The successful candidate would need to remain focused on raising standards of academic achievement whilst developing a cohesive school community where children and staff flourish.

The new headteacher will be:

  • Passionate about providing the best possible education and care for all pupils
  • Able to lead and motivate the staff team; inspiring, challenging, supporting and ultimately ensuring sustainable improvement
  • Able to consistently communicate a clear and compelling vision for Northfield Road within the Stour Vale Academy Trust

For an informal discussion please contact Rachel Cutting, Executive Lead for Primary at Stour Vale Academy Trust on 01384 816632 or Karen Brass who is currently Executive Headteacher for Northfield Road on 01384 816695 (Milking Bank Primary School) or 01384 818710 (Northfield Road Primary School).

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office on 01384 818710 to arrange to visit on one of the following dates: Thursday 7th March 2019 at 11.00 am, Tuesday 12th March 2019 at 9.30 am, Thursday 14th March 2019 at 4.00 pm or Tuesday 19th March 2019 at 9.30 am.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure check by the disclosure and barring service.

Closing date: Midnight on Sunday 31st March 2019

Shortlisting will take place on the afternoon of 1st April 2019 with interviews scheduled for 8th and 9th April.

Completed application forms are returnable to Adela Girona, School Business Manager, Northfield Road Primary School, Northfield Road, Netherton, Dudley DY2 9ER or email to applications@northfield.dudley.sch.uk
