Believing, Celebrating, Succeeding

Assistant Head Teacher - Federation Inclusion, Safeguarding and Behaviour Leader

Leadership scale L6 to L10
Permanent
                           To start 1st September 2019

We are a Federation of the Blue Coat Infant and Junior schools.  The two popular schools share a commitment to high standards and a strong Christian ethos.  We enjoy strong support from our parents and the schools successfully serve their multi-faith community.  Both schools are three form entry and there are over 650 children attending the two schools.

The Governors have created an exciting new position in the Federation and they are looking to appoint an excellent teacher and leader.  There are two existing Assistant Heads, one based in the Infant School and one based in the Junior School with a key focus on the leadership of teaching and learning.  The new Assistant Head will hold a key leadership role and s/he will be a member of the Executive Leadership Team.  The new post holder will be responsible for leading and managing the inclusion, safeguarding and behaviour provision across both schools.  The new post holder will lead an existing highly skilled Federation inclusion team of SENDCOs, learning mentors and teaching assistants.  The post holder will also work closely with the Executive Head and Deputy Executive Head as well as the two other Assistant Heads to plan and deliver the strategic development of the two schools.

The post holder will have a 0.5 teaching commitment in our Success Centre which is attended by a small group of children with complex needs requiring specialised teaching and support.  The post holder will be part of a Success Centre staff team which includes another teacher and a number of teaching assistants.

The children attending the Success Centre can be from any primary year group so experience and an ability to teach across all primary key stages is desirable.  Previous experience leading and managing inclusion, safeguarding and behaviour, as well as teaching vulnerable children with complex needs will also be desirable.

We welcome enquiries from everyone and value diversity in our workforce.

There is an exclusive package of employee benefits available for all Blue Coat Federation employees.

Appointment is subject to DBS enhanced clearance plus 2 suitable professional references. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Informal visits to the schools are welcome.  Please contact Mrs Karen Baker on 01922 720921 to make an appointment.
