About the Role

Our Care Leavers Team at the Trust are looking for a Personal Advisor to help support our young people who are leaving care.

The successful candidate will assist and support young people to help prepare them for independence and act as an advocate on behalf of the young person and their carers.

You will work with a wide range of agency partners such as housing, education, training providers and welfare rights to ensure the young person receives the right support and ensure you are on hand to provide advice (including practical advise) to our care leavers.

What you need to be successful in this role

The ideal person will be an excellent communicator and be able to support and advise young people in becoming independent adults.

  • You must be educated to NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent in a discipline related to the work of social care/targeted youth support (housing, education, prevention, youth work).
  • You will have experience of working with young people experiencing difficulties with their families.
  • Have experience of managing a caseload and accurate record keeping.
  • Experience of preparing and supporting young people to live independently.
  • Experience of working within multi disciplined partnerships –housing, welfare rights, and careers guidance
