Are you community focused? Do you want to make a positive change to the people of Staffordshire in financially challenging times? This is a fantastic chance to join the Community Highways team and make a difference.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Community Highways team to engage with local representatives and their communities on all matters relating to the highway.

The traffic management role will support county councillors to fulfil their highway priorities; assist the Council to deliver its ‘People helping people’ enabler; and respond to all forms of highway enquiries from councillors, residents and communities. The successful candidate(s) will provide expert traffic management advice and support to the whole of the Community Highways team.

You will be joining a team who are passionate about highways in the communities they support and who are keen to bring about positive change. The successful candidate(s) will have in-depth highways traffic management knowledge; excellent communication skills; be politically astute; demonstrate resilience under pressure; and be enthusiastic and flexible in their approach to the role. A detailed knowledge of highways legislation and design is required by the successful candidate(s).

The successful candidate(s) will be located at one of the following highway depots: Gailey, Lichfield, Stone or Leek.
