The Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust is looking to appoint a resourceful and highly effective Teaching Assistant level 2 to join our committed team to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with additional needs, and support the academy in providing the best possible standards for our community. 

The academy has a successful Nursery, Nurture Nursery and Children’s Centre which works closely with our families to give their children the best start in life. 

The Staff team have developed and deliver a creative curriculum that cultivates children’s talents and interests. Our children will leave us as responsible citizens and lifelong learners and thinkers. 

St Michael’s are looking to recruit a T.A. 2 to work initially in our Nursery in our Foundation Stage, moving through the key stages if appropriate to support a child with additional needs. Previous experience is desirable however a newly qualified practitioner will need to demonstrate the enthusiasm, skills and abilities to be able to work to a first-class standard. 

This post is fixed term in the first instance until 31.8.2020

Initially based in the Foundation Stage you will work on a 1:1 basis with a child with additional needs. Ideally you will be Makaton trained - if not, training will be available. You will prepare and deliver activities to the individual child assisting them to access the curriculum as directed by the Foundation Stage Leader and provide appropriate health, safety, welfare, emotional and behavioural support for the child. It is intended that you will move through the Keys stage with the child.
