Salary Scale – Mainscale/UPS - £23720 - £39406 per annum

Due to a change in staffing, the Governing Body of St Matthias C. E. Primary School is seeking to appoint an excellent and highly motivated teacher from September 2019 or after Easter if possible.  This post would be ideal for an ambitious teacher who is looking to develop their leadership skills and there are excellent training opportunities to develop practice at St Matthias. The candidate needs to be resilient, hardworking and must be committed to raising the level of achievement for all pupils, regardless of needs.

The duties and responsibilities allocated to the post will be based on the skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications of the individual appointed, which will determine the grade.

The successful candidate will;

  • be an good classroom practitioner with high expectations
  • be truly committed to raising the level of achievement for all pupils regardless of economic background or other need
  • be able to contribute to raising standards and believe every child should have the opportunity to reach their true potential
  •  be passionate about good teaching and learning
  • have excellent Mathematics and English skills with a good subject knowledge
  • have good knowledge of how to support children on the SEN register including those with Autism
  • be sensitive to the needs of individual learners and be able to support disadvantage pupils
  • be able to deliver high quality learning opportunities and targeted interventions
  • be able to ensure high standards of classroom management and organisation
  • have the ability to deal positively with children, parents and staff
  • Have successful experience of leading school improvement initiatives
  • have excellent interpersonal, organisation, communication and time management skills
  • be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • be adaptable, self motivated and able to lead and motivate others in  the leadership of a subject area.
  • be enthusiastic and determined to develop own practice
  • be committed to the safety and well-being of all pupils
  • adhere to and support whole school policies and practices
  • be able to support and reflect the values of our Church school
