ASSISTANT HEAD TEACHER
Salary: L3 – L7 £41,989 - £46,430 per annum
Full time, permanent
For September 2019

An exciting opportunity has arisen at St Peter’s, Bratton. Following the planned retirement of our current SENCO this coming summer, the governing body have created a new role of Assistant Head Teacher for inclusion at our popular primary school.

This exciting position, gives the post holder tremendous potential to continue to build on the successful leadership of the current SENCO, to make St Peter’s truly inclusive school, with an excellent reputation for child centred and focused education.

As Assistant Head Teacher for inclusion, you would take the lead in the Behaviour and Attitudes strand of school improvement. You will lead a team of teachers and support assistants to develop this aspect of school and be fully supported by the Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher in doing so.

You will retain responsibility for a class (year group negotiable) with significant release time to carry out your role, This, therefore, gives an ambitious teacher great potential to develop their leadership and management skills, beyond middle leader level, whilst retaining the role of the class teacher.

At St Peter’s, we are at exciting point in our development. A new Head Teacher joined the school last summer and the school is moving forward in a child centred direction. As Assistant Head Teacher, you would be a key person in that school journey.

If you are interested in joining us at St Peter’s, please contact the school office to arrange a visit and to meet the Head Teacher, Mark Davis.

St Peter’s Bratton is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and thorough vetting procedure.

Closing date: Friday 29.03.19 at 1pm.
Observations in existing schools: Week beginning 1.4.19
Interview day: Tuesday 9.04.19

Applications to be returned to Suzanne.lees@taw.org.uk . Candidates need to detail how they meet person specification and are able to carry out the job description.

The interview day will assess candidates’ suitability for the role using a variety of exercises, including a formal interview.
