Queensway Special School - part of the Learning Community Trust

Salary Range: Main Scale + 1 SEN Point, + UPR depending on experience

Permanent and full-time based at our South site.

Queensway Special School is an academy, part of the Learning Community Trust that provides a superb education for just over 100 young people with Education Health Care Plans. Queensway operates on two sites, Queensway North and Queensway South. Queensway South is a specialist provision for young people with a Social, Emotional and Mental Health diagnosis. The school is situated in Dawley and provides a nurturing, supportive environment that meets the needs of our individual learners.

Currently, at South, we have 54 students (Y5-Y11) on roll who are taught by a team of specialist teachers and support staff. Students are in small classes of 6/8 students to support their learning and the model is of a teacher plus at least one teaching assistant in each class.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Design and Technology Teacher, at our South site to deliver Technology to all our students. We also require the successful candidate to deliver GCSE and Vocational courses to our Key Stage 4 students. There is a purpose built skills centre on site which is well equipped and provides a great teaching area for our students to enjoy practical work.

Experience of teaching children with SEMH would be an advantage but not essential. We will provide training and support to develop your practise.
