Walsall Fostering Service recruits, trains, assesses and supports foster carers. We have a record of accomplishment of high quality service provision and are committed to achieving positive outcomes for all Walsall children in care.
The Fostering Support and Development team supervises the foster placement; we support carers to promote the welfare of our children. The team is responsible to review foster carer’s status on a yearly basis, assess their suitability, and continued registration.
Walsall Placement Social Worker, work closely with the internal Fostering Team, the resource and commissioning service; to seek out the best and most appropriate placement match for children and young people. Within this role, the identified worker will be expected to take the lead on a variety of project to improve service deliver for children, families and foster carers of Walsall.
The post holder will be expected to have substantial assessment experiences and the knowledge of key Legislation relating to working with foster carers and children.
In our Social Work role we requires innovative, a creative individual who has eyes for details, and willing to be flexible in their approach to reshape service deliver for our children. The post holder will be from time to time expected to train, assesses and supports foster carers. We have a record of accomplishment of high quality service provision and are committed to achieving positive outcomes for all Walsall children in care.
These posts will be an integral part of the internal Fostering Support and Development team who supervises the foster placement. In addition, the identified individual will work alongside the resource and commissioning services in building relationship with external providers to secure suitable foster and residential home for children and young people.
We support carers to promote the welfare of our children. Identify worker will assess the matching suitability of children to be placed within a foster home.
We are looking to recruit a Placement Social Workers and a supervising Social Worker with extensive childcare experience. You will need to be Social Work qualified, registered with the HCPC, familiar with the TSD standards and have a comprehensive knowledge of fostering Standards, Regulations and Legislation. We are looking for someone with experience, enthusiasm, and a commitment to developing foster carers.
As part of your role, you will be expected to participate in permanency arrangements, Parent/child placement, training, carer recruitment and retention group. The post holder will participate in a variety of meetings involving different project across children services.
Walsall are accredited Mockingbird fostering providers, an innovative way of delivering foster care using an extended family model which provides peer support, regular joint planning, training and social activities. You will be involve in ongoing discussion around the Mockingbird family model.
