Administrative & Finance Assistant
Salary: £14734 - £15560 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Closing Date: Friday 29th March 2019
INTERVIEW DATE: Week commencing 8th April 2019
JOB PURPOSE
Under the guidance of the School Business Manager, to provide comprehensive administrative and financial support service to the school.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- To check and process purchase orders ensuring there is sufficient budget, communicating with staff and reporting on spend.
- Undertake administration duties such as typing, word processing, updating databases and complex IT based tasks.
- To support and deal with complex reception matters, communicating with parents, visitors, pupils and staff including taking calls and disseminating messages/queries etc.
- Responsibility for the accurate handling and security of small sums of cash, cheques or financial resource.
- Collect and record the pupil and staff lunches and notify kitchen.
- Manage manual and computerised systems for example SIMS and Mercury E5.
- Manage administration of the facilities including use of the school premises.
- Support with the administration of the nursery funding including invoicing and collection of parent’s payments.
- Raise sales invoices and support the Finance Officer as required.
- Check the office email account and disseminate emails accordingly.
- Any other relevant tasks as required by SLT.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline
- Very good numeracy/literacy skills
- The ability to support staff/pupils/respond to parents through fluent and accurately spoken English
- Effective use of ICT and other specialist equipment/resources
- Full working knowledge of relevant polices/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
- Very good ICT skills
- Ability to relate well to children and adults
- Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
