About the role
This new post comes at an exciting time in the organisation’s development and will make a significant contribution to achieving Severn Arts’ future ambitions and addressing some key challenges, including:
- Raising the positive profile of Severn Arts and the impact of its work, regionally, nationally and internationally, broadening perceptions of music and arts education and demonstrating the excellence young people can achieve;
- Increasing Severn Arts’s audiences and provision of music education through engagement with schools and the public;
- Creating strong networks of champions and supporters of our work, building deeper relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, funders and audiences;
- Ensuring Severn Arts has a strong and consistent brand identity and articulates clear and compelling key organisational messages.
Main Purpose of the Role
The Marketing and Communications Manager will primarily be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational delivery of marketing and communications of Severn Arts, including the implementation of branding, development of our current and prospective audiences and driving forward the digital agenda.

It intends to develop its business/commercial operation, whilst retaining a strong social ethos and providing arts and music educational experiences for all, but with a particular focus on children and young people in the county.
The Company was formed in June 2018 and currently provides music tuition, performance opportunities, instrument hire and cultural events and projects for over 10,000 children and young people in Worcestershire. Severn Arts is the lead organisation for Worcestershire’s Music Education Hub, funded by Arts Council England to develop and deliver accessible, high quality music education for young people in Worcestershire. We are commissioned by Worcestershire County Council to deliver the County Arts service and by Worcester City Council to support community festivals. We are also working in partnership with Malvern Hills District Council and the consortium members of a new arts programme, Reimagine Redditch to support the creative sector to grow and develop audiences
