Future Generation Trust is a small, growing Trust of 4 primary phase academies in Staffordshire.

It is committed to developing qualities and skills in pupils at all its academies that will enable them to have happy and successful adult lives. A clear focus upon enjoyment, participation and high achievement aims to create a strong foundation in pupils that will allow them to move forward with purpose and belief. The Trust plans to grow to 6 primary schools in the next 2 years.

It now has two exciting opportunities for aspirational leaders to become a Deputy Headteacher to advance the school improvement agendas and to build on the work already in place to enhance the outcomes and future prospects of our pupils.

Deputy Headteacher

St. John’s Primary Academy, Essington, is an Outstanding, Ofsted rated academy. It has 530 pupils and a flourishing pre-school Little Eagles enterprise which offers child care to 2 and 3 year old children. St. John’s is an heavily, over-subscribed, academy with a strong reputation for promoting enjoyment and excellence in a broad and balanced curriculum.

Deputy Headteacher

St. Peter’s CE Primary Academy, Hednesford, is a Good, Ofsted rated academy.

It is a caring academy that aims to ensure that children enjoy being part of this inclusive and secure learning community. It has over 400 pupils and is known for its friendly and warm atmosphere. It is an outstanding Church school, and has very close links with St Peter’s Church in Hednesford.

In each of the academies the successful applicant will be working alongside a newly appointed Headteacher. The ethos behind the Trust is one of sustainable school improvement through shared understanding and collaboration, fostering and building strong teams to share good and innovative practice, to promote learners’ achievements and to be the best that we can be.  Our Trust values; respect to all from all, a positive attitude, resilience and a determination to achieve our best, passion for learning, innovation and collaboration are the foundations that underpin what the Trust offers to staff and its continuous improvement philosophy.

Each academy particularly requires candidates who are highly organised and talented classroom practitioners with commitment to playing a full role in the life of the academy. The appointed people will need to share our vision of providing pupils with a happy supportive culture in a stimulating environment that does not have an over reliance upon data.

Potential candidates are invited to apply for both posts or for either of the posts individually. Visits to each academy are highly recommended and will strengthen a candidate’s application.

Visits to St. Peter’s can be arranged for the week commencing Monday 25th March.

Visits to St. John’s can be arranged for the week beginning Monday 1st April.
