Design Technology Technician – Textiles and Art [NEW]

18 hours per week, Permanent, Part – Time, Term time only

Grade 5, scp 5 – 6, £9.74 – £9.94 per hour (1st April pay award)

REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Textiles and Art Technician to be an integral part of our creative team. You will be expected to assist with the setting up of lessons, organizing equipment and resources, maintaining sewing machines and other specialist equipment as well as general classroom assistance as directed within the Textiles and Art Departments. Key parts of the role will be maintaining and preparing D&T and other vital teaching materials for lessons and assisting the Head of Faculty in a variety of educational duties ranging from mounting and displaying work throughout the school to working one to one with students.

The successful candidate will have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team or independently as required. First-class administrative and organisational skills are essential for this role and as well as experience of working with computers within textiles and art.  Most importantly, you will have a passion for D&T in particular and learning which will promote an enthusiasm and love of the subject amongst the students.
