*This position is to provide support for a project and is Fixed term for 12 months*
Walsall Council is an innovative organisation, undergoing a transformational change programme to modernise its service offer to Walsall residents. The public health team has strong collaborative working with partners across the borough including the NHS, voluntary sector, West Midlands Police and Housing and Fire services. Regulatory services and parks and green spaces are also close working partners.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the highly regarded Public Health service of Walsall Council for an individual with the appropriate experience, motivation and proactive approach to join our team, who can engage effectively with partner agencies.
The post holder will represent Walsall Council and Public Health at a range of local and regional forums and will maintain strong links with partner agencies, including Public Health England, local healthcare trusts and NHS Walsall CCG. The position will also provide opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in other areas of public health, according to the individual’s interests.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person to work across Walsall and the Black Country to engage with businesses to promote Smokefree in the workplace.
The post holder will have an excellent knowledge of health promotion and the wider determinants of health, in particular around the setting of the workplace.
You will have the ability to communicate with audiences from a wide range of backgrounds including stop smoking and lifestyle services providers including our existing stop smoking and lifestyles services providers.
