We are looking for a range of Drivers, Senior Crew/Driver, Senior Crew Members and Collectors for a range of permanent, fixed term and casual contracts. (Please note, casual contracts may be required on an ad-hoc basis. Positions will initially be casual, although could lead to temporary or permanent positions in the future.)

Positions available are within domestic refuse/recycling and commercial trade waste services. Collections operate throughout Coventry and may include surrounding areas where commercial collections are undertaken.

- Must be physically fit and be able to communicate in professional manner with colleagues and members of the public

- Will need to be customer focused and have a can do attitude

- Will have an understanding of refuse or recycling collection methods/techniques is essential

Senior Crew Driver specific duties include:

Driver: Your role will involve driving a waste collection vehicle, this may include a 26 tonne refuse vehicles (or similar), skip lorry, roll on roll off or front end loader. This could be as part of a team or as a lone worker, depending on the service area. Applicants for these posts must have the correct LGV license and valid CPC card and may be subject to a LGV driving assessment and medical as part of the interview process.

Driver / Senior Crew/Driver and Senior Crew Member: You will be responsible for relevant paperwork and record keeping, including use of mobile technology, and ensuring daily targets are completed. Collector: You may be required to take on some of the responsibilities of the Senior Crew Member if requested.

Hours:

Permanent contracts are 37 hours a week. Additional payments may be applicable to some roles where driver duties are required. Core operation hours and shift patterns are as follows:

Domestic - Your core hours to work will be between 6.30am to 5.00pm Tuesday - Friday. This reflects time allocated for vehicle inspections if applicable. (Hours not guaranteed for casual contracts)

Commercial – Shifts operate between 5.30am and 10:00pm Monday – Friday and 5.00am and 7:00pm at weekends. This reflects time allocated for vehicle inspections if applicable. (Hours not guaranteed for casual contracts) All applicants should be enthusiastic and committed individuals who are looking to make a difference; you will have a good level of interpersonal skills, initiative and will be customer focused.
