The Coleshill School is part of The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP) which is a highly successful Multi- Academy Trust (MAT) encompassing 4 secondary schools, 8 primary schools, a Teaching School, and SCITT. Our MAT is currently expanding and will soon be 14 schools, 5 secondary and 9 primary, based in North Birmingham, Tamworth, Lichfield and North Warwickshire.

Job Summary:
Grade: Band E, Points 13-17 (Actual salary £12,866.98-£13,814.75)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
(Mon & Wed: 8.30am-4.30pm, Tues & Thurs: 8.30am-3.00pm, Fri: 8.30am-2.00pm)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only, plus 5 Inset Days

Then the post of Teaching Assistant Level 2 could be for you and you will be joining TCS at an exciting time, following our most recent Ofsted Report (May 2016): when we were judged as "Good" in all areas. Working in the Inclusion Team, the Learning Support Assistant is a role that benefits both the students and the school. It has been designed to enable vulnerable students to reach their full potential, those who require a holistic programme of support and/ or alternative provision.

Your role will include helping vulnerable students to overcome their barriers to learning, supporting access to the curriculum and acting as a role model, whilst working with families and support agencies. Extra-curricular opportunities will be developed for the students on your caseload and you will work closely with other departments.

You will work supporting student's behaviour and learning in and outside of the class.

Key Requirements

Candidates would ideally have the following experience of working as a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant.
Has worked with students with SEND including SEMH. Is confident in managing small groups of young people
Has worked in 11 – 16 school setting
Has worked with students with complex learning needs and/ or behaviour e.g Autistic Spectrum/ ADHD and experience of working with multi- disciplinary agencies.
