Social Worker, Adoption and Fostering Recruitment and Training

Salary:  £30,756.00 - £35,229.00 per annum

37 Hours per week – Permanent

An exciting vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of the current post holder to work within the Adoption and Fostering Recruitment and Training Team.  This is a County wide role and the post holder will be required to work flexibly, including some evening and weekend activities on a planned basis.

This is a rare opportunity for a Social Worker to join our highly experienced team.  The ideal candidate with be child centred and have a good knowledge of Fostering and Adoption.  Key aspects of the role will include training, assessments and chairing Foster Carers Annual reviews; also supporting the retention of Foster carers through events including BBQ’s, Winter fayres and Long Service awards.  You would be involved with our general recruitment activity involving taking calls on the enquiry line and going out on the recruitment bus.  You would need to demonstrate an understanding of the recruitment challenges and to be able to support recruitment activity. 

The post holder must be a qualified Social Worker with previous experience of fieldwork with children and or foster carers or adopters.  They will be confident, dynamic, creative and able to present to large groups.  The candidate will be expected to be a team player.  Prior Training experience would be a benefit but is not essential as there will be opportunities to work alongside experienced trainers.
