King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Science teacher with a specialism in Physics. In 2018, 86% of Year 11 students achieved at least two GCSE science grades at 9-4 and over half of the cohort took the Triple Science course. In GCSE Physics, 15% of triple science students gained a Grade 9 with almost 40% of students achieving a Grade 9-7; you will be joining a high-performing department with a passion for their subject.

As a teacher you will teach Science across the age and ability range and specialise in Physics at Key Stage 4 and 5. Science is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. We have a strong uptake for A-level, with two groups for Physics in both Year 12 and 13.

We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills alongside the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life. The post is suitable for a current classroom teacher or for a Newly Qualified Teacher. A part-time appointment would be considered for a suitable candidate.

King Edward VI School is a popular 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2017 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we are currently expanding to take in an additional form of entry from 2019. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral City which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.
