Principal
Competitive Salary, to be negotiated
Following the promotion of Simon French as Executive Principal/CEO the Trust is looking to appoint a Principal for the Discovery Academy. This is a really exciting opportunity to lead an expanding, oversubscribed, good school to achieve its next ambition of becoming truly outstanding.
The Academy was inspected by Ofsted in January 2019 and judged ‘Good’. We are, therefore, looking for a leader with vision and ambition who is committed to further developing the considerable strengths of the Discovery Academy and working closely with the Executive Principal/CEO to take the Academy forward. The successful candidate will have access to high level leadership support and development through the NPQ/Executive Educators Programme.
The Principal will be accountable directly to the Executive Principal/CEO for the professional leadership and operational management of the Academy to ensure that the Academy’s aims are implemented in accordance with the vision and ethos of the Trust. The Principals of the Alpha Academies Trust play a substantial part in promoting and shaping the Trust’s reputation and direction.
This is an exceptional opportunity and the Academy boasts outstanding facilities and state-of-the-art learning environment.
The Alpha Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its employees and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other stringent vetting and induction processes.
For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit to the Academy please contact Simon French, Principal, by email at sfrench2@thediscoveryacademy.co.uk.
