Job Details
Worcestershire County Council has a superb opportunity for a skilled, experienced ICT Senior Network Engineer.
You will ensure that the appropriate network infrastructure solutions (WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewall etc.) are in place within the Council and provide technical governance and assurance services for the infrastructure component of all proposals to be delivered internally or by 3rd parties.
This position will interact with various other teams to consolidate network requirements to meet the Council's needs. You will have strong design skills and be responsible for documenting requirements and working with the team to develop and oversee implementations.
This position will promote governance and compliance with standards, policies and procedures as well as assist in the development and training of other teams to deploy and maintain these solutions in the field.
Main activities and responsibilities are:
To be the Council’s lead on all matters associated with Network technologies and to contribute to the strategic management of Systems & Customer Access.
To develop and maintain a full overview of the Network technology developments, within and outside local government
To participate in or technical lead multifunctional / multidisciplinary projects and tasks related to the development of solutions using Network solutions, either on their own or as an underpinning element to application delivery
To create and maintain HLD and technical LLD documents for all Network enterprise solutions and projects as identified by the business.
To establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside local government.
Coordinates implementation of new installations, designs, and migrations for technology solutions in one of the network work domain.
