We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Teacher of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

Solihull Specialist Inclusion Support Service (SISS) is a high quality, highly valued local service working closely with Solihull’s maintained schools, academies and settings to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs.

Working in the SEMH team you will be allocated a number of schools to support children who are referred to the team from Foundation Stage to Year 11, all of whom have needs related to SEMH.

It will be your role to support the educational development of the children referred to the team and their inclusion within mainstream schools. The SEMH Team provides a traded service to schools and the work will involve a variety of working scenarios including; individual work, small group interventions, supporting the development of whole school approaches to SEMH and delivering training to a range of audiences.

You will be a good or outstanding teacher with substantial proven experience of meeting the needs of children and young people with SEMH and have extensive knowledge and understanding of the implications of SEMH for an individual. You will also have relevant experience of working with parents and other professionals and will have worked successfully as part of a team, including multidisciplinary teams.

Positive communication skills are essential to ensure you can develop successful relationships with schools, pupils and families.

You will be expected to travel around the Borough of Solihull supporting the children on your caseload.
