We are seeking to appoint a qualified Teacher of the Deaf. The successful candidate will have experience of working with hearing impaired children, their families and educational settings in a peripatetic support role. The Sensory Inclusion Service is looking to develop the support they offer to children who use signed communication. Therefore, the candidate will have good sign language skills preferably at BSL Level 3 or above. You will join a team of Teachers of the Deaf and allied professionals working with H.I. students with a range of learning and communication needs
The role as a Teacher of the Deaf requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to work independently as well as contributing to the wider team within the Service. The ability to be well organised and work to deadlines is essential.
Due to the nature of this role you must be able to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
