Assistant Headteacher

Assistant Headteacher with specific responsibility for SEND, inclusion and wellbeing.

Pay Scale: L3-7 / £41989 - £46430 per annum

The Governors and Senior Leadership Team of Crown Meadow First School and Nursery are seeking to appoint a forward thinking, highly ambitious and committed Assistant Headteacher to join our school as we continue on the next stage of development towards becoming an outstanding school.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate innovative, excellent people skills and flexibility in their approach to leadership.  You will ‘lead from the front’ and inspire your team to maximise the potential for each and every one of our children. 

The successful candidate will:

• be an outstanding class teacher who can model teaching skills within the school, lead on improving teaching where needed and directly impact on pupil outcomes;
• be highly motivated and able to demonstrate leadership skills and have experience of successfully leading aspects of whole school improvement which has had an impact on pupils’ achievement;
• work in partnership with the Headteacher and SLT in monitoring and evaluating the standards of teaching and learning within school;
• be responsible and provide support for the emotional, social and personal development of pupils to complement their academic progress;
• lead and implement SEND provision across Crown Meadow

  Duties:

• Sharing in the writing of the SDP and SEF
• Sharing in the reporting to Governors
• Lead appraiser for teachers
• Responsibility for the personal development of pupils at Crown Meadow
• Coach and mentor the Pastoral Leader in order to have an overview of SMSC and pupil wellbeing
• Planning for intervention and pupil outcomes planning using agreed formats
• Commitment to equal opportunities and securing good outcomes for pupils with SEND
• Leading pupil progress meetings
• Supporting the Headteacher in managing staff absence
• Provide release time for teachers

Tours of the school will be taking place on Thursday 2nd May 2019 at 9:30am, 1:30pm and 4:00pm.
