Sandwell Graduate Development Programme
- Are you talented and motivated?
- Do you think you can handle the opportunity to influence, innovate and help shape our business?
- Have you just graduated with a 2:1?
Our graduate development programme aims to be different. We’re looking for exceptional individuals with the talent and potential to be our leaders of the future.
We want to find a group of people who share our values; Trust, Unity and Progress. You’ll live these values and take responsibility for being the best you can be. If you have the drive and commitment to make a real difference to the work we’re doing in our communities, and you show us this, then we’ll help you reach your full potential.
You’ll need to have, or expect, at least a 2:1. At Sandwell, we will assess your suitability for our programme by using a number of tools including strengths and critical reasoning assessments, organisational fit and an assessment centre.
You’ll take the opportunity we’re giving you and you’ll make it your own. Because that’s what this programme is about; it’s about you. We’ll create a role for you based on the talent and potential you bring, with opportunities across the council. You’ll be given real responsibilities, with real challenges and a real chance to grow.
We’re offering a fully supported programme with quality training and fully funded qualifications. You’ll have the opportunity to work and learn from experts in their field and by the end of your two years you’ll be ready to progress into a permanent role at the council.
During the programme you’ll also receive an annual salary of £25,295, generous holiday entitlement, access to an employee benefits scheme (including discounts on gym membership, holidays and high street shops, plus a free counselling service), the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme and genuine support of your health and wellbeing.
Our programme provides you with the knowledge, experience, qualifications and achievements you’ll need to succeed. This is the start of a journey that could take you all the way to the top.
By joining our graduate community you’ll be working with our exciting clients across a number of sectors as part of a dynamic team. As we recruit more than one graduate each year, you will have the opportunity to work alongside other like-minded individuals in a similar situation. Our current graduates have found this to be a positive experience in addition to giving them everything they need to build their network and carve out their own unique career path. We will give you the opportunity and the support needed to accelerate your career, the rest is up to you!
