Warwick District Council has a big ambition to reduce rough sleeping in the district and to make a lasting difference to the lives of homeless people. We have new opportunities to join the Housing Advice and Homeless Prevention Team in roles funded through the Warwick District Council’s Rough Sleeper Initiative.

It’s not all plain sailing but if you are a passionate “can do” person, driven by the desire to make a difference and to act on the needs of vulnerable people, then we would like to hear from you!

Hostel for homeless people:

This service is available to rough sleepers with complex needs and vulnerabilities who may not have sustained a tenancy for many years. We have the following role:

Homeless Services Manager
£29,636 to £32,029 per annum
Fixed-Term Contract until 31st March 2020
37 hours per week (there will be occasional weekend and bank holiday working)

This post is central to providing a safe place for the Rough Sleeping cohort within the District; building and expanding on the work done since the hostel opened in September 2018.  The service is setting out to be a major player in tackling rough sleeping via the Hostel and our Move on accommodation.

Working as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we support and be flexible in your approach to work; you will have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to providing support.  With leadership skills, able to motivate and coach a large staff team to achieve positive results for Service Users.

Being available on call as part of a rota basis with other managers to provide support to on duty staff as required. Being able to be flexible in working hours to support and manage staff working shifts (subject to operational requirements there may be a need to cover shifts on occasional weekend and bank holiday).

The Hostel operates on a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; adopting a holistic, multi-agency approach to helping our Service Users develop the necessary skills to maximise their chances of independent living.

You are required to have a driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
