We are currently recruiting for;
Casual Museum Assistant
The Casual Museum Assistants provide cover for Museum Assistants.
As a Casual Museum Assistant you will ensure the safety and security of the building and collections and provide a warm welcome to our wide variety of visitors. You will provide a reception service for the museum and will enjoy and have experience of dealing with the public. The role involves regular patrolling and you should be comfortable in being assertive and managing challenging behaviour in an appropriate manner.
Your role is also to maintain the cleanliness of the building and also support the safety of our visitors, including acting as a Fire Warden and facilitating emergency evacuations. The job includes regular lifting, carrying and checking paperwork. In addition there will be opportunities for delivering activities, educational sessions and helping with exhibitions.

Maths and English GCSE or equivalent and basic education
Experience of dealing with members of the public
Cash handling experience
Good communication skills and enjoy working with and supporting a small team.
