Job Details
Telford & Wrekin Council provides a Business Support Service across Children, Young People and Adult Services.
Part time Business Support Officer - 24 hours per week term time plus 3 weeks
£19,554 to £21,166 per rota (£10.14 - £10.97 per hour)
Fixed term/secondment opportunity to be reviewed Feb 2020
Due to internal secondment, we have a vacancy for a part time Business Support Officer to join the team that supports SEND & Inclusion (consisting of SEND 0-25 and Pupil Support Services). Within SEND 0-25 and PSS, we support the following services:
- Educational Psychology
- Sensory Inclusion
- Portage
- SEND 0-25
- Learning Support Advisory
- Behaviour Support Advisory
- Virtual School
SEND 0-25 services are responsible for working with and supporting schools, young people and their families to be clear about what help and support is available to enable those children and young people in need of additional support, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, to reach their full potential both academically and socially. Services provide a range of alternative provision and interventions to support those young people to make transitions back into mainstream or into further education. Attainment, progress and attendance of Children in Care is monitored and where necessary, interventions are made to support these young people to achieve their potential. Increasing the stability of education placements for Children in Care is key to achieving this.
Pupil Support Services work with children and young people aged 4 to 18, senior leadership staff, teachers, teaching assistants and school support workers; offering learning assessments and advice, access arrangements, observations, and advice & support for children and young people with a special educational need.
The standard BSO Job Description applies and will focus upon usual business support to the team including data inputting and maintenance of accurate records and systems, arranging meetings and undertaking minute-taking. The postholder will be supported by the Team Leader/Senior Business Support Officer, to complete a range of tasks/functions. The majority of the main functions of the team will be supported by written processes and instructions.
