Policy and Performance Officer

Grade G £25,295 - £28,785 per annum

Post No: EC020 – 37 hours per week

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Policy and Performance professional to support the Council, its Service Managers and Heads of Service on corporate policy matters and with its performance reporting requirements.

You will be joining a small and friendly team responsible for delivering the Council’s policy and communications work.

The successful candidate will be involved across a number of exciting projects outlined in the Council’s Corporate Plan and particularly around equality and diversity, policy and advice, peer reviews and improvement, quarterly reporting and the production of our annual report.

You should have  expericene of working strategically across  a range of different policy and performance areas and subjects,  and have experience of developing policy and strategy, particularly in relation to Equality and Diversity.

 You should have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, along with excellent communication skills, both witten and verbal.

In addition you should hold a degree (or equivalent) in a related subject, and have knowledge of key national and regional policy and performance initiatives affecting local government.

You should also have knowledge of Governance and the decision making framework within the public sector, and be competent in the use of a variety of ICT software packages and applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
