We are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to reach their potential.

As a Travel Trainer you will play a vital part in enabling young adults with special educational needs to become independent travellers. Supporting people who come under the NEET criteria (Not in Education, Employment or Training) you will work one to one with individuals helping them increase their confidence and put in support strategies to help them succeed with their goals. You will develop positive working relationships with families to promote the importance of independent travel and how it can benefit young people’s lives.

To be successful in the role you will need to be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate through experience, the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties. You will already have experience of working with adults, young people or children with special educational needs and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the difficulties parents/carers face when supporting their children to become independent travellers. Above all you must have a flexible approach to working hours, able to travel across the Borough and work from a variety of locations.
