Fostering - Family Finding & Targeted Services
Senior Social Worker
£34,788 - £37,849 per annum
PO6
37 hours per week
This post is currently eligible for a market factor allowance of £1,000 per annum for social workers with 2 years post qualification social work experience.
At the direction of the Team Manager Family Finding & Targeted Services, to lead and co-ordinate activities in relation to the recruitment and pre-approval training of a range of Foster Carers, respond to enquiries, undertake initial visits, update recruitment information and provide information to members of the public interested in becoming Foster Carers, deliver pre approval training and contribute to marketing and publicity information and events in relation to the recruitment of Foster Carers.
To directly manage a mixed caseload consisting of Form F assessments and the supervision and support of Foster Carers approved to provide Targeted foster placements involving children and young people with complex needs, emergency placements, stepdown from residential care, parent and child, sole placements.
At the direction of the Team Manager Family Finding and Targeted Services work with the lead Social Worker family finding within the team, children and young people’s Social Workers across Children’s Safeguarding and Specialist Service to discuss matching of children and young people who require a range of foster placements through the development and maintenance of frequent meetings and communication with: Brokerage, Children and young people’s Social Workers, Foster Carers, the Family Finding and Targeted Services team members, the Mainstream Fostering team, Assessment and Permanency.
Participate in the weekly Placement finding duty rota to find and match children and young people with Foster Carers as a consequence of emergency, short term/ respite and long term foster placements within the Family Finding and Targeted Services
