Job Details

Could you lead and inspire us and help us in our journey to transform services and do things differently?

Our vision is to be an agile and digital enterprise - with the technologies and processes which make it easy for our residents to access services and easy for our staff to deliver them. But we don’t want to stop there. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our Leadership Team who has the vision and passion to bring digital inclusion to life in our communities.

This is a really exciting opportunity. In addition to leading our talented ICT Team you will play a key role in:

  • Driving our transformation programme which includes agile working across all council services
  •  Developing and implementing our technology and digital strategy
  •  Driving forward our ICT System review programme

You will have a proven track record of leading and managing technology enabled transformation change programmes in a customer focused environment.

Excellent influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to inspire and lead teams and manage change are a must.

An understanding of the public sector is desirable but not essential.

We have an excellent benefits package including up to 32 days leave, 10 bank holidays, and 15 days flexi days a year, LGPS pension (employer contributions and ill health/life cover), buying of annual leave scheme, access to health support including physio, discounted leisure membership, fully supported CPD and a positive working culture.

We are located on the edge of the M6, M54 and a seven minute train journey from Wolverhampton. Free car parking and on site-catering facilities.

You will be joining us at an exciting time. Our recent LGA Corporate Peer Challenge reported that the leadership of the Council was “very impressive” with “strong evidence of ambition and innovation” and that the Council was “in a strong position to meet future challenges”. We were also recent national award finalists for being an entrepreneurial council and re-inventing local services.
