Janitor (with driving) / Design and Technology Technician

King Edward VI High School are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Janitor (10 hours per week, full year) and a Design and Technology Technician (10 hours per week, term time only).

The school is willing to accept applications for each individual role or on a combined basis.

Janitor (with driving)

Under the direction of the Caretaker or Senior staff you will be responsible for locking the building, ensuring that premises are in safe, tidy and satisfactory condition and completing general janitorial duties.

The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, be able to demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised and have good communication skills.  You will need to be flexible in your working hours to help accommodate the needs of our school where activities extend beyond the school day and into the holidays.

Salary: £16,495 - £16,863 per annum

(£4,458 - £4,558 per annum, pro rata, actual salary)

10 hours per week:   4.00 pm – 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday

                                      (additional hours will be required)

Design and Technology Technician

This role will involve preparing resources, wall displays and materials for lessons with a focus on Product Design. The successful candidate will support the classroom teacher in lessons by assisting students with practical work and supporting project work for various Key Stages and examinations. You will be required to undertake a Health & Safety responsibility for the maintenance of machinery within the department. Applicants should ideally have knowledge of CAD/CAM, tool and machine maintenance, be computer literate and be skilled in Design and Technology material preparation.  The successful applicant will be required to carry out general clerical duties such as data input, filing, processing of orders and stock maintenance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. A willingness to undertake training as required for the role is important.

Salary: £16,863 - £17,391 per annum

(£4,912 - £5,023 per annum, pro rata, actual salary)
