Pupil Administrator (Part-time)- Ref TV06419

Annual hours 1105 to be worked 25 hours for 25 weeks (Oct-Mid April) and 30 hours for 16 weeks (Mid-April – Sept) but flexibility required from the applicants as this is a new role

Salary: Grade 4 Point 16 – 21 on the Support staff pay scale £19,171-£21,166 per annum pro rata

Required 10th June or as soon as enhanced DBS and reference checks are complete.

We are looking to appoint a Pupil Administrator with a minimum GCSE grade C in English and Maths, to lead on pupil administration, including admissions and leavers, registration, attendance, census and systems connected to pupils.

You will take overall responsibility for all aspects of pupil administration. The role is an important one and includes responsibility for liaising with the LA’s School Attendance Officer in relation to attendance matters.

As this is a prominent role that will have contact with children and parents as well as staff and the general public, we are looking for a friendly person with a positive attitude, who is  able to manage peak time workload when dealing with several demands at once and still retain a sense of humour!

You will already be skilled in the use of IT and may have used the SIMS system. You need to be able to work independently and part of a team. You need to be highly organised and flexible as there is a seasonal element of work to this role.

The hours of work will be 25 hours per week, to be worked each day between 9 - 2.30/3.00pm (30 mins lunch), for 41 weeks of the year; i.e. term time plus two weeks.

Working hours can be negotiated. As there are greater demands placed on this role during pupil peak admissions times (Summer term), there would be an expectation the candidate then works up to 30 hours a week.

An information pack including a job description, person specification and an application form is available from Mrs Price (dprice@blackwood.walsall.sch.uk) or can be downloaded from the school website.

Closing Date for applications: Tuesday 21st May 2019 at 4pm

Interview Date: Wednesday 5th June 2019.

Visits to our school are welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Dawn Price, School Business Manager dprice@blackwood.walsall.sch.uk to make an appointment.

Blackwood School is committed to the protection and safety of its pupils. We hold child safeguarding as a priority. On interview applicants will be asked for photo identification and proof of qualifications. Successful applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks. We welcome applicants regardless of gender, age ethnicity or religion’
