Worcestershire County Council's Public Rights of Way Mapping Team is seeking a knowledgeable, skilled and enthusiastic professional to contribute to the Council's duty to maintain the Definitive Map and Statement.

The post will require you to take a senior role in all aspects of the Mapping team's work including:

* Responsibility for the processing of more complex or contentious public path and definitive map modification orders.
* Taking a lead on the assessment and monitoring of planning applications in line with the Council's 'Open for Business' priority.
* Responsibility for liaising with the planning inspectorate, preparing submissions and evidence and representing the authority in public hearings and inquiries if required.
* Providing advice and support within the Public Rights of Way Mapping Team and externally.

With the role comes a busy and demanding workload requiring excellent prioritisation and time management skills. You will be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative to achieve successful outcomes, as well as acting as a mentor to other team members. You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and be able to deal effectively with a range of stakeholders including senior managers, county councillors, parish and town councils and user groups.
