Job Details

The Youth Service aims to provide opportunities to create personal learning and development opportunities for all young people in Sandwell. The service is made up of Centre Based, Detached and specialised youth work teams working across the six towns in Sandwell.

We are looking for a Youth Worker who can meet the needs and aspirations of young people and deliver high quality Youth Work.

The successful applicant will plan, deliver and evaluate services and activities in a variety of settings to meet the needs of young people in Sandwell.

The post is required for two areas of youth work –

Detached Youth Work - We are particularly looking for youth workers with an interest in working with young people engaged through our detached provisions. Detached Youth Work is a model of youth work practice, targeted at vulnerable & excluded young people who mainstream youth work and services may not reach. It takes place on young people's own territory such as streets, cafes, parks, outside shops etc. - at times that are appropriate to them and on their terms. It begins from where young people are in terms of their values, attitudes, issues and ambitions and is concerned with their personal and social development.

Coneygre Arts Centre - We are particularly looking for youth workers with an interest in working with young people engaged through our arts provision. Coneygre offers live music, drama, dance and recording studio.  We are looking for applicants who have a passion for youth work but may also have a skill in live music, drama, singing, recording studios or dance to enhance the delivery of youth work sessions.

If you feel you have the experience and knowledge required, then we would like to hear from you.

Previous applicants need not apply.
